answers:
I looked up the code on playstation.com and these are the possible answers:
1. Reboot your system then try reconnecting OR do it later;
2. During network set-up, make sure all infos are correct;
3. Look further in your manual or their website.
Here’s the link for the help page where you can type in your error code:

Ps3 DNS error when connecting to network?
i have a linksys router and been using my ps3 on wireless on it. It has been fine but today it won’t connect and it says DNS error. How can i fix this?
answers:
Check the “internet connection test” on the ps3 under the network settings and if it doesnt clear off, try disconnecting your router or modem for about 2 min, then reconnect and check your “internet connection test” again. Try it out and let me know if it works

Hey man,
I have this problem quite a bit, its either two things
1. On the XMB go to Network Settings
2. Next go to Internet Connection Settings
3. Choose Wireless
4. Choose Enter Manually in WLAN Settings
5. Enter your SSID (your wireless network name)
If you have internet security, enter it after this.
6. Under Address Settings, choose Custom
7. Under IP Address Settings, choose Manual
8. Input your information (exactly as shown):
IP Address: 192.168.0.105 (enter your own IP)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Router: 192.168.0.1 (if you know your router already, use that number)
Primary DNS: 4.2.2.2 (it is important that you use these numbers)
Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.3
9. Continue on to MTU and choose Automatic
10. Continue on to Proxy Server and choose Do Not Use
11. Continue on to UPnP and choose Enabled
12. Click X to save your settings
13. Test your connection and see if this helped or not
If that doesn’t work then try this:
1) Change your DNS settings to the OpenDNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and leave your PS3 settings on automatic/easy (probably what you already had it set as before).
2) Locate the IP address of your router. For example’s sake, mine is a D-Link DI-604 with IP 192.168.0.1
3) Open a web browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer for example) on a computer connected to your router (The PS3’s browser might also work but I didn’t try that).
4) In the address bar, type in the IP address of you router.
5) If it asks for a username and password, enter whatever you set it as. If you never set one, check the manual with your router and it will probably give the default username and password. If you can’t find one, try username “admin” with no password.
6) Once you get in, look for the setting to enter “DNS Primary and Secondary.” (under “WAN.”) Once you find it, enter the values above for DNS (208.67.222.222 primary and 208.67.220.220 secondary). Make sure to apply the changes.
7) Check the connection on your PS3 and hope that it is working.
