A perfectly clear phone,
I went from a Motorola Razr to a Samsung Strive, and I can’t begin to tell you what a relief it is to finally have a phone with a full QWERTY keyboard, and a clear sound. Calls are crystal clear for me, as well as the person on the other end and the phone itself is comfortable to hold. Texting is not only easier on the full keyboard, but it’s also fun, I text all the time now. It’s also nice to be able to view your texting correspondences IM/conversation style. I turned on the predictive text mode for texting and I didn’t like it too much, but all I had to do was turn it off and voila!
I’m very happy with this phone. For the price and the excellent performance, it just doesn’t get any better than this!

|Avoid – too many solicitations for more money once you start using,
The Strive is technologically capable and well-designed by Samsung. It can do everything I need reasonably well although it is the most frustrating phone I have ever used. AT&T ruined this phone with bloatware that requests you spend more money every month, with every click you make.
You may pay a lot for voice, messaging and data when you order the phone. That is just the beginning – over 70% of the icons you click on this phone will offer you a trial of a service with a MONTHLY additional charge of $1.99 – 10.99 (yes, every month).
I’m a really savvy user, but I keep bumping into slow, frustrating and costly features, even though I think I’ve memorized which ones to avoid. Just looking at a map online is a real challenge. The GPS has been hobbled so you can’t use google maps with it – you have to pay $9.99 for AT&T telenav in order to make use of GPS.
None of these programs and links can be deleted by the user – they are all grayed out when I look through the list of programs to delete.
Samsung will not help you. There is not simple operating system with a reasonable set of programs that you can overwrite your phone with.
One other option – buy an unlocked Sony phone from Amazon or TigerDirect. No bloatware, just fast, easy and capable operation with no hidden fees. AT&T didn’t have a chance to ruin it.
Good luck!
