Charles asks…
How hard would it be to make and iPhone/iPod Touch Game using SDK?
how hard would it be to use the iPhone SDK to create a simple but addictive game. i was thinking about making one similar to Cubefield, a simple yet addictive flash game but changing it so you could tilt some to the left or right to dodge them.
heres a link to the game.
http://www.addictinggames.com/cubefield….
any advice or tips on how to make it would be loved to have. thanks!
oh yeah, and by the way…
how many people would like to see a game like this for the iPhone/iPod Touch? we were thinking about putting it up for somewhere between 2-4 dollars to buy on the app store.
how many would buy this game for that price??
thanks for any ideas and criticism.
answers:
The difficulty depends on your current understanding of programing languages and how they work in general. All programing languages are relatively the same.
Take a look at the documentation Apple provided with the SDK. That’s all you need.
As you know, the paid developers (EA Games, SEGA, PopCap) took only two weeks to make their amazing full 3D games. But also remember that even if they’ve never programmed on a Mac before, they took their programing skills and it wasn’t difficult.
But for someone who’s beginner, it might take a few months.
However if you have a decent knowledge of programming, then you should be able to complete it in one month depending on how long you take to program and learn.
